Business leaders in Milford are expressing concern at a proposal to close the Main Street to traffic for a month, beginning in October. Long awaited improvement works are getting underway, but it’s feared the disruption the works cause may damage some businesses beyond repair.
The proposal has been flagged in the local press, with next Friday the deadline for objections.
Business people are meeting with local councillors and officials this afternoon to see if an alternative can be found. Nightime working is being proposed as one possible solution.
