Donegal’s Seamus Coleman has been called up for the first time to the senior Ireland squad for the internationals against Russia and Slovakia. The Everton defender has had a big few weeks, scoring his first goal for his club and also starting in the Premier League team sheets. Coleman had been a regular in the u21 side but an injury to Stephen Kelly now gives him the chance to impress Giovanni Trapattoni. Seamus returned to the north west on Sunday to watch his club Killybegs in the county final before heading off to train with the senior side.
