Teenager treated for suspected broken jaw after being attacked in U15 GAA match

A teenager is being treated for a suspected broken jaw after he was kicked in the face while tying his boot laces during a GAA football match.
The 15-year-old St Eunans player was attacked with just minutes to go in the underage game in Burt against Urris here in the County on Sunday.
Shocked spectators attending the game on Sunday claimed the attack was completely unprovoked.
The incident happened on Sunday morning in the Northern Regional U-15 final between St Eunans and Urris, which was held at a neutral venue in Burt.
With minutes to go in the game a St. Eunan’s player sustained a suspected broken jaw and was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Local GAA bosses have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack and are awaiting the referees report.
Representatives from the Urris club have contacted St Eunans to apologise and accepted full responsibility for the attack.
The teenager who carried out the attack will face a lengthy suspension from the game if found guilty
