Mac Lochlainn says Blaney’s LGH guarantees are an election stunt

Letterkenny General Hospitals unfinished multi-million euro A&E and Medical Unit could be open as planned early next year.
Donegal North-East Deputy Niall Blaney says the 22 million euro extension could be complete by April.
Work on the new three-storey unit has been stalled since last month when the High Court appointed a receiver to McNamara Construction.
HSE officails have told Deputy Blaney that they are working with the reciever and the subcontractors to complete the extension on deadline.
However, Sinn Fein Cllr and Donegal Deputy Mayor Padraig Mac Lochlainn has hit out at Deputy Blaney, saying these guarantees, coupled with the promise to wipe over €3 million from the hospital’s budget deficit are electioneering stunts.
Cllr Mac Lochlainn, who will contest the election for Sinn Fein, says the reason the hospital has a deficit is that Deputy Blaney’s government had cut its funding:
