Council working to address issue of twin towns family living in car

A Donegal County Councillor says that efforts are ongoing to address a situation on a private housing estate where a family of three are living in a car in Stranorlar.
Locals have expressed concerns at the situation however it is thought the family involved are not seeking any assistance from the local authority.
Although the situation involving the family has been ongoing for years the story only hit the national headlines when it was featured in a Sunday World Newspaper article.
It is understood the family, a father and mother and a daughter in her 20’s, have been living outside their Woodlawn Estate home in a car for a number of years.
Locals have expressed concern about the level of rubbish outside with the Council removing an estimated  two tons of rubbish from the gardens last year.
However one local says that rubbish is once again beginning to pile up expressing dismay that the situation has been allowed go on so long.
Local Councillor Patrick McGowen says he is well aware of the situation and that the local authority under the guidance of the county manager is working towards finding a resolution to what is being described as a sensitive case.
