Derry City are just one point behind Shamrock Rovers at the top of the League Of Ireland Premier Division after Tuesday nights win over Drogheda at the Brandywell. At half time Derry were one in front with a Kevin Deery headed goal on 24 minutes. The Candystrip’s second goal came from Eamon Zayed in the dying moments of the game. It was also an important evening for full-back Eddie McCallion – who celebrated his 500th competitive appearance and was made captain for the occasion.
