Paint bombs have been thrown at First Derry Presbyterian Church ahead of its reopening on Sunday.
Two and a half million pounds was spent refurbishing the historic building which was closed in 2002 due to dry rot.
Reverend David Latimer said the incident was minor and involved a small number of young people.
He says the paint has been removed and the church is ready for the re-opening on Sunday:
