Girls rescued from burning building in Derry

The Fire Service in Derry say two girls who were trapped in a burning building at Springtown in Derry last night are lucky to be alive.
The girls, aged 13 and 14, became trapped in the building at the Ballinskea industrial estate at around 10 o’clock last night. A number of appliances from the Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, firefighters entered the building to get the girls out.
They were treated for mild burns and the effects of smoke inhalation. A third girl escaped uninjured.
Speaking to Greg Hughes on today’s Shaun Doherty Show, Fire Service Assistant Group Commander Mark Darrell outlined what happened………….
