A meeting will be held at Carrigart National School this evening to discuss concerns following a letter being issued by Bus Eireann stating some students will no longer be eligible for free school transport.
Bus Eireann is either changing or more strongly enforcing entitlement rules which means parents of some students of Scoil Eoin Baiste may end up paying up to 600 euro for school transport.
There is further concern that parent may opt to send their children to near-by gaelscoileanna, as free transport entitlements for Irish Schools are broader.
Ciara Gilmore is a teacher at Scoil Eoin Baiste:
The meeting takes place in the school this (Friday)evening at 6 o’clock.
