The chairman of NAMA, Frank Daly, has said it was a difficult decision to push McNamara Construction into recievership.
Questioned by Donegal North East TD Padraig Mac Lochlainn at the British Irish Interparlimentary Group meeting in Cork today, he also said it was something that couldnt be achieved without pain.
However, Deputy Mac Lochlainn says it’s the people of Donegal who have been forced to bear that pain, with work stalled on the extension to Letterkenny General Hospital.
He says Frank Daly’s admittance that this was effectively brought about by an arm of the state raises serious questions…..
