LKG manager: Short term staffing of Emergency Dept not a problem

Letterkenny General Hospital’s manager says the hospital will not have a problem staffing its Emergency Department unit next week, but may run in to problems in two or three months time.
This year there’s a serious national shortage of non-consultant doctors, with fears that A&E services in particular may be threatened after the six month rotation.
Letterkenny Hospital manager Sean Murphy says they will have sufficient doctors to keep services going next week, but some of the doctors are on short term contracts of two or three months duration.
However, he’s hopeful that an initiative to recruit new doctors from India and Pakistan will have borne fruit by then:
