Gardai treating Newtowncunningham fire as suspicious

Gardai are investigating a fire which caused extensive damage to an unoccupied house in the Newtowncunningham area. The house, a large building known locally as “The Castle”, was reported to be on fire at 1 o’clock this morning.
Fire tenders from both sides of the border were called to the scene.
Gardai have confirmed they are treating the blaze as suspicious.
