Major boundary changes proposed in Northern Ireland

New political boundaries under consideration in the North could see one Westminister seat and up to six Assembly seats lost in Derry and Tyrone.
Under the proposals, which are going out to public consultation, East Derry, West Tyrone and Mid Ulster will be scrapped, to be replaced by two new constituencies, Mid Tyrone and Glenshane.
Pol Callaghan is a former SDLP MLA in Foyle, and has been closely examining the proposed changes. He says it’s important that every voter studies the proposals, and how they may be affected.
He says assembly representation in the North West may be disproportionately affected if these changes are adopted………
