The Government should change PRSI regulations to allow self-employed people to pay an extra contribution.
Donegal South-West Deputy, Thomas Pringle says if self-employed people paid this extra amount, then they would then be entitled to benefits, if they ever became unemployed.
Currently when self-employed people end up out of work, they have no entitlements to any social welfare benefits.
Deputy Pringle says if the Government changed the rules, people would be more inclined to start up their own business……..
