SF wants government to scrap proposed property taxes due to price crash

Donegal South West Deputy Pearse Doherty has called on the the government to abandon its property tax plan and reverse the household charge in view of the collapse in property prices.
Sinn Fein’s Finance spokesperson has also presented an alternative plan and called on the government to seek re-negotiation with the Troika.
Deputy Doherty made his remarks following news that prices of houses and apartments across the country fell at their fastest annual rate in almost two years last month.
And he says people who cannot afford their next mortgage bill cannot afford the household charge:
