West Donegal man to face trial charged with 32 sex offences

A retired man is to face trial in March charged with 32 sex offences over eight years.
The man was remanded on €1,000 bail to appear at Donegal town Circuit Court on March 27.
Judge Paul Kelly told the west Donegal man at Glenties District Court today(Wed), where the book of evidence was served, that he had 14 days to notify the prosecution if he intended calling alibi evidence as part of his defence.
The man, described at an earlier hearing as “retired”, was also ordered to surrender his passport and report to his local Garda station twice a week before his trial.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with a total of 32 counts of indecent assault between October 1977 and November 1985 against one or more injured parties.
