Hundreds attend funeral of Willie Mc Keeney

Hundreds of people today attended the funeral of Malin head Willie McKeeney. The 57 year old died in hospital after he was attacked in Glasgow in the middle of January. Two people have been charged with his murder. He had been living and working in Scotland for a number of years.
St Mary’s Church, Lagg, Malin was packed to capacity for requiem mass, with more people standing outside.
They heard Fr Brendan Crowley pay tribute to Mr Mc Keeney, calling his death a tragedy which had shocked and stunned the local community.
