The Government has been accused of protecting private schools in Dublin at the expense of smaller schools across the country.
During heated exchanges on education cuts in the Seanad, Donegal Senator Brian O’Domhnaill claimed 70 teachers will lose their jobs in Donegal while 87% of Protestant schools will be effected.
The concerns centre on cuts which could see small schools across the country with four teachers or fewer start to close in 2012.
