Gardai have formally named the 24 year old man shot dead outside Buncrana last night as Andrew Allen.
The Derry native was gunned down in the bedroom of a house in Links View Park in Buncrana last night, after moving to the area around six months ago.
His partner was also in the house at the time but she was not injured in the attack.
Technical examinations are continuing at the scene and a post mortem will be carried out on the victim’s remains later.
Speaking at a press conference attended by Highland Radio, Garda Press Officer said up to three gunmen fired through a bedroom window when they couldn’t get into the house:
The investigation is being led by Buncrana Superintendent Kevin English.
He’s particularly keen to trace the movements of whatever vehicle was used by the gang after they abandoned the vauxhall:
