Eircom to invest 5 million on Letterkenny broadband upgrade

Eircom is to spend up to €5 million in the coming months to improve broadband provision in Letterkenny.
The town is one of ten in the country being provided with a new high speed fibre network, with preparatory work already underway.
Briefing town councillors on the plan, Eircom spokesperson Paul Bradley said as well as improving telephone services and brodband speeds, the new network could also be used for television and other
video based services.
Addressing the wider issue of broadband availability to Highland Radio at the meeting, Paul Bradley says that despite its peripherallity, Donegal has a far higher than average take-up:
