Three men arrested in Derry after cross border chase

Three men have been arrested in Derry following an incident in which a van collided with police vehicles on both sides of the border.
The incident began in the Carranbane Walk area of Shantallow this morning.
Police in Derry say that at approximately 9.30, yesterday morning  it was reported that a number of men had tried to gain access to a house and then rammed a car parked at the property before driving off.
A short time later a van collided with a police car causing extensive damage.
The white van, which had a Donegal registration, then crossed the border and was involved in a further collision with two Garda vehicles responding to a request for assistance.
The van collided with a parked Garda vehicle in Muff. Thirty minutes later it hit another unmanned Garda car at Manorstowncross near Burnfoot. Both Gardai vehicles were extensively damaged, but no-one was injured.
The van then crossed back over the border, and was finally stopped by PSNI officers on the Groarty Road, and three people aged 26,32 and 33 were arrested.
Detectives at Strand Road are investigating.
