A Lifford doctor has said that the local community are devastated that the hospital may be facing closure.
In a statement released by the HSE today, it’s proposed residential care aspect of the hospital is closed.
A public consultation on the future of the Hospital will now begin on March the 1st.
Dr Paul Armstrong says he hopes the 12-week consultation period is a genuine process and not a token listening exercise that gives the impression that something is being done.
And Dr Armstrong says while the future does not look good, he has called on everyone to stay positive……
Meanwhile local Cllr Gerry Crawford has called the consultation period a waste of time.
He says the views of people in Lifford are already well known…….
