HSE boss says LGH faces a huge challenge in 2012

The head of the HSE has identified Letterkenny General as one of the hospitals facing the biggest challenge in 2012.
The Irish Medical Times reports that Cathal Magee told the Board of the Executive that immediate action is being taken by the HSE to review the plans of Letterkenny General and a number of other hospitals to achieve a balanced budget.
He said there is a real challenge in maintaining services while meeting the financial targets for 2012.
