GAA – Hegarty Retires From County Football

Michael Hegarty, one of Donegal’s longest serving forwards has called time on his inter county career. Ahead of this weekends Donegal Cork League game in Ballybofey, Manager Jim McGuinness confirmed that the Kilcar man had called it a day. Hegarty who has played in senior county colours since his debut 1999 has decided to concentrate on club football with Kilcar. Last year in the All Ireland Semi Final defeat to Dublin, Michael played in his 50th game for Donegal – that was to be his last championship appearance.
