Funeral takes place in Lifford of David Colhoun

The funeral took place in Lifford this morning of 22 year old David Colhoun, the local man whose body was recovered from the River Foyle during the week.
He’d gone missing last May after fleeing police custody in Strabane following his arrest for what was described at the time as a minor offence.
His skeletal remains were found by a digger driver taking gravel from the river on Tuesday morning and released to the family on Thursday evening after a post mortem examination.
His father Joseph Colhoun says after 10 months of hell, he was happy to be finally able to bury his son. David’s body was laid to rest beside his mother at St Baithin’s Cemetery in St Johnston.
