A meeting has taken place of all the whips on Donegal County Council to clear the air after unsavoury scenes at the council’s meeting at the end of February.
The informal meeting reaffirmed the council’s code of conduct, and each of the whips gave commitments that their members would not interrupt others, and if the mayor makes a ruling on behaviour, he or she will be supported.
Members will be invited to gather in the chamber for a briefing on the discussion before the next full council meeting gets underway on Monday week.
