“Cross border linkages have disappeared off the political agenda” – Hannigan

Cross border linkages have disappeared off the political agenda in the Republic of Ireland, according to the Director of Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
Paul Hannigan was speaking in Lifford as he asked councillors for their views on the future direction of the college.
The I.T. is preparing a strategy document for the Higher Education Authority, with a number of directions open.
One is to focus on the idea of a Technological University for the BMW region and linkages with other colleges in the West and North West of the Republic.
The other is to strengthen the link with the University of Ulster at Magee.
Councillors were anxious that the cross border link would not be lost, and Mr Hannigan says it’s an issue he is continuing to raise the issue with Minister Ruari Quinn:
