The Justice Minister has failed to give assurances that Glenties Garda Station will not be downgarded from District status or even closed.
Senator Brian O Domnhaill raised the issue in the Seanad last night after speculation on the future of the District station intensified in the past few days.
The Fianna Fail Senator told the Seanad that locals were concerned, and that there was an increase in crime in Donegal because of the decrease in Garda numbers.
