Northwest Independent MEP Marian Harkin says she supports the French President’s call for a financial transaction tax.
President Francois Hollande referred to the need for the tax during his address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg yesterday.
The Irish government has so far refused to back the tax.
However, Marian Harkin says its introduction could help to reduce unnecessary financial transactions:
