Invest NI has promised to run a number of workshops in Derry to help local businesses tender for government contracts and other public service opportunities.
The procurement training had been sought by Foyle MLA Pat Ramsay, who says the level of bureaucracy involved in such applications can be a major deterent to small companies who do not have the personnel to work on detailed applications, even though they are perfectly qualified to do the work.
Mr Ramsay says this is one of a number of iniatives promised at a meeting over ther weekend to boost business in Derry and the North West, particularly with City of Culture bringing a number of contracts to the city this year………..
