The Secretary of the Donegal Down Syndrome Association had a brief meeting with Education Minister Ruari Quinn in Glenties this afternoon . Gina Grant says MInister Quinn was receptive, and has promised further discussion on their call for more supports for children starting school.
Ruari Quinn is addresing the MacGill Summer School this evening on the theme “building the best education system in the world, accessible to all”.
Earlier, Gina Grant said that was an ironic title, as MInister Quinn refused to categorise all Down Dyndrome as disabled for education purposes. However, she says he spoke to them today and is interested in reaching a compromise…………
