Ahead of the Seanad Referendum, a senior Labour Party member in Donegal is again calling for the positions of polling clerks to be advertised publicly.
Peter Cutliffe has long called for polling clerk positions to be advertised to give people on the live register an opportunity of some employment.
While Donegal County Council has given support for a review of the recruitment system, no firm proposals have been made.
Mr Cutliffe says with a number of rederenda and local elections due over the next couple of years, now is the time to reform the system:
