Frustration at New Fixtures for Club Championship

There is dissatisfaction among some of the county’s GAA clubs at the decision by Donegal GAA officials to reschedule the quarter finals of the senior club championship to next weekend.
The competition Controls Committee decided this week to bring forward the playing of the Senior championship quarter finals by a month – the ties had been provisionally fixed for the weekend of September 14th/15th.
However, following Donegal’s defeat by Mayo on Sunday last that all changed. According to this morning’s Donegal Democrat, the decision has not gone down well with a number of clubs who say it’s unfair on the county players and indeed some of their club players, who have organised holidays around the provisional dates.
Some of those clubs, including Gaoth Dobhair may be objecting to the decision to change the dates.
The quarter finals, which are fixed for the weekend of August 17th and 18th see St. Eunans against Malin, Killybegs against Sean McCools, Glenswilly against Kilcar and Adara against Gaoth Dobhair.
