Donegal Leaving Cert students warned about dangers of alcohol

drinkawareWith thousands of students in Donegal due to get their leaving cert results next week, drinkaware dot ie has urged them to celebrate responsibly.
The website points out that it can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of the night and end up overdoing it.
Approximately 2000 students sat the Leaving Cert exams in Donegal this year, and drinkaware.ie and the National Parents’ Council post-primary are encouraging them all to celebrate responsibly when results come out on Wednesday.
Students our advised to pace themselves and take control of how much and how fast you drink., to have water between alcoholic drinks; don’t drink on an empty stomach and avoid rounds.
The groups also point out that here will be some students that are disappointed and a strong support system is crucial at this time, made up of both parents and friends.
The NPCpp is also providing a free Leaving Cert Helpline, which can be reached at for a week from Wednesday the 14 between 8am and 7pm daily on 1800 265 165.
