Donegal Senior Football Championship fixtures moved again

Donegal GAAThe dates for the Donegal Senior Football Championship quarter-finals have been changed again in a saga that is generating an understandable amount of reaction.
After Donegal crashed out of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship against Mayo the weekend before last, it was decided to bring forward the senior club championship quarter-finals to this weekend coming, August 17th / 18th.
However, this caused quite a bit of reaction, with some clubs pointing out that quite a few people involved had already holiday or other plans in place and it was unfair to bring forward the games.
Last night the Competitions  Control Committee met to review matters, and it decided that the games will now be played on the weekend of September 14th and 15th.
It is understood, though, that there are reservations in some quarters about these dates. One source suggested that some clubs are resigned to losing players through emigration by mid-September. It has also emerged that at least two clubs are thought to have been happy enough to go ahead this coming weekend.
The four quarter-finals are:
Kilcar v. Glenswilly
St. Eunan’s (champions) v. Malin
MacCumhaill’s v. Killybeg
Gaoth Dobhair v. Ardara.
