Over 2,000 Donegal students receiving Leaving Certificate results today

Over 55,000 Leaving Certificate students are receiving their exam results today, just over 2,000 of them in Donegal. 1,959 students sat the Leaving Certificate exam in June, another 133 sat the Leaving Cert Applied.
The number of candidates sitting the tests this year fell to its lowest level since 2007 – but the uptake for Higher Level Maths increased to a record level.
One student received nine A1 grades at higher level.
The State Examinations Commission is again apologising for an error in the maths paper – which it says was taken into account in the marking process.
Meanwhile, Drink-aware-dot-ie is urging parents to talk to their children about how they intend to celebrate their leaving certificate results later tonight.
The website has issued some basic advice for pupils today.
The group is urging students -who are over 18 and drink- to pace themselves and to take control of how much they are drinking.
