Donegal Senator says governments ‘ham fisted’ approach could cost Ireland millions in EU funding

A Donegal Senator has claimed that government inaction could leadeu to 60 million euro of much needed funding for rural Ireland being returned to Europe.
Brian Ó Domhnaill  has reiterated his call on Minister Phil Hogan to ensure there is a 100% drawdown of funding under the LEADER programme.
He says the minister’s ‘ham-fisted’ approach to handling the Leader programme means that up to €60 million of EU and Irish funds will be lost to crucial rural, economic and community projects.
