BAI launches public consultation on Irish broadcasting

The BAI has launched its own public consultation on its strategy for the next three years.
Chairperson Bob Collins says the plan has to reflect the enormous change in the Irish broadcasting sector.
And he says while people are still consuming TV in traditional ways, the advent of social media will have an impact.
“People have the capacity in their pockets or in their bags through smartphones to create content in a way that inconceivable” he said.
“I don’t believe that that will be without influence or impact; that will have an impact on the way people respond to, relate to other media” he added.
