Harps cruise into last eight of cup

Finn harps earned themselves a home tie against Drogheda United in the quarter finals of the FAI Ford Cup on Monday night.
Peter Hutton’s side recorded an impressive 4-0 win away to Cobh Ramblers in last night’s 3rd round replay.
Harps got up and running with a Kevin McHugh penalty ten minutes before half time.  The harps captain, who was a doubt going into this game converted from the spot after he was fouled by Craig Burns.
Lee Toland returned to the starting 11 and made it 2-0 four minutes later when he scored from a free kick. Paul McVeigh came off the bench to add a third ten minutes from time , by which stage Cobh had two men sent off  after Brendan Frahill and Roy Kenny both seen red in the second half. Michael Funston rounded off the scoring with the fourth close to the finish.
Harps are through to the quarter finals for the first time in ten years – and their reward is a home tie against Premier Division Drogheda at Finn park on Friday night, September 13th.
