ICSA calls for more resources to tackle farm thefts in border areas

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association says Gardaí need better resources to deal with increasing crime, particularly theft, in the counties along the Border.
In the latest incident last week, 14 bullocks were stolen from a field near Dungannon, Co Tyrone
They were worth over €25,600. There have also been a number of thefts reported from farms in Donegal and Derry, asnd lat week, the PSNI issued a warning about thefts from farms around Castlederg.
ICSA’s Connaught/Ulster vice president John Flynn says it appears that the criminals involved are highly organised – he says farmers in Border counties feel particularly vulnerable:
