Northwest MEP Jim Higgins says he believes new cross-border efforts could eliminate illegal fuel laundering.
He says authorities are working together on a cross-border basis in order to effectively wipe out fuel laundering by implementing a new fuel marker system.
Fuel laundering is a particular problem in border areas with customs raiding a number of major fuel laundering plants in Donegal in recent years.
