Downey trial to get underway in January

January 14th next has been fixed as the date for the trial of Donegal man John Downey, who is charged in connection with the 1982 Hyde Park bombing in London.
The 61 year old of Ards, Creeslough appeared at the Old Bailey today, where administrative details in the case were dealt with.
Mr Downey, who was arrested in May at Gatwick Airport, is charged with causing the deaths of 4 members of the Household Cavalry in an explosion on South Carraige Drive in Hyde Park.
