Funding announced for special needs classes in Carrick and Letterkenny

The Department of Education has announced extra special needs classes for primary and post-primary schools in Donegal.
The announcement is part of a national scheme, which plans to role out a total of 118 new classes throughout the country over the coming month.
There will be new Autistic Spectrum Disorder classes in Carrick Vocational School and  Errigal College in Letterkenny, as well as in St Patricks National School, Lurghybrack in Letterkenny
A new booklet to help parents choose a school for children with special needs has also been launched.
Welcoming the announcement, Senator Jimmy Harte expressed hope that this will help ease the burden placed on special needs teachers, who have been under severe pressure from budget cuts…
