Gardai in Donegal seize almost €150,000 worth of cannabis herb and plants

cannabisGardai in Donegal have seized almost €150,000 euro worth of cannabis this afternoon.
The seizures come after a man and woman were arrested in Sligo last night for being in posession of €80,000 euro worth of cannabis.
200 cannabis plants, with an estimated value of €120,000 euro were seized at two growhouses in Leiter, Kilmacrennan.
While €24,000 euro worth of cannabis herb was seized in a housing estate outside Milford.
Gardai have said investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, two arrests were made in Sligo today in separate seizures.
One man and one woman were arrested and a quantity of cannabis herb was seized following a stop and search of a vehicle in Ballymote last night.
Gardaí stopped a car on the N4, Castlebaldwin, Ballymote.
When the car was searched Gardaí recovered 4 Kg of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €80,000.
The two occupants of the car, a man in his mid 30s and a woman in her mid 20s, were arrested at the scene. They are currently being detained at Ballymote Garda.
Both seizures in Donegal and Sligo are believed to be part of a nationwide crackdown on drugs gangs using rural counties to grow cannabis.
