Police appeal for information on weekend hit and run in Derry

Police at Strand Road in Derry are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run RTC involving a pedestrian in the Buncrana Road area last weekend.
At around 11 o’clock on Sunday night last, a black Peugeot hatchback car was driven down the Buncrana Road.
The driver, believed to be male, turned right into Springtown Road and knocked down a 23-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The driver, thought to be in his late teens or early 20s, is believed to have stopped the car and got out briefly before driving away at speed up the Springtown Road.
The pedestrian suffered a number of injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
