40% increase in Donegal lifeboat callouts

The RNLI is reporting a 40% rise in lifeboat launches in Donegal in June, July and August, broadly reflecting the national rise of 43%.
There were 35 launches in Donegal this summer compared to 25 in 2012.
Once again, the busiest lifeboat station in the county was Lough Swilly, with 16 launches in June, July and August, compared to 14 in 2012.
Arranmore launched 10 times this year, compared to eight last year, while Bundoran saw its callouts increase by 200%, from three to nine.
There was one drowning tragedy in the county over the summer with the death near Dunaff Head in July of Christine Plummer.
