The Taoiseach says no final decision on a budget figure has been made.
It comes after the Finance Minister said yesterday it would be “somewhat less” than the planned 3.1 billion euro correction.
The Economic Management Council met last night to discuss budgetary preparations but a full meeting of the Cabinet on the budget has yet to take place.
Enda Kenny says they are still crunching the numbers.
“WE haven’t fixed on this yet – obviously the government will make its collective decision on that” he said.
“I think the figures available to the Minister clearly indicate that the adjustment will be somewhat less than 3.1 – but that that hasn’t been finally decided and approved yet” he added.
