Inishowen Cllr says emigration will accelrate because of budget

An Inishowen Cllr has said that emigration in the penninsula will accelerate because of the cuts to jobseekers allowance in the budget.
Social welfare for people aged between 18-24 was cut 44% from €144 a week to €100 a week yesterday.
Over the last number of years, thousands of young people have already left Inishowen, and Cllr Jack Murray says yesterdays budget will now only accelerate emigration:

But the Education Minister is defending the budget decision to cut jobseekers allowance for the under 24’s.
Ruairi Quinn says it’s based on encouraging more young people into education and training, adding that people without a job are like a ‘two legged stool’….
