Nephew of Suzy Arthur pleads with Government to retain phone allowance for pensioners

suzyThe nephew of a woman who died weeks after she was burgled has pleaded with the Government to rethink their plan to scrap telephone allowance for pensioners.
Joe McKean’s aunt was at home at Tullyrap just off the road from Letterkenny to Lifford with her sister Iza when three men broke into the house and held them hostage in July.
Suzy was thrown to the ground during their ordeal, suffering an injury to her hip. She was admitted to hospital, where she remained up until her death.
Speaking on todays Shaun Doherty Show, Joe McKean said the phone allowance was vital, especially for elderly people living on their own:
