nowdocThe HSE has confirmed that Caredoc is to take over the out of hours GP service currently operated by NoWDOC, with no change to the service that patients currently receive.
The HSE said this afternoon its objective is to see the service developed and enhanced as much as possible.
According to the HSE’s statement this afternoon, the agreement reached by the HSE and Caredoc will come into effect in a seamless manner and will have no adverse impact on the service provided to patients.

The HSE says under its agreement with Caredoc there will be no change to the service that the patient/caller currently receives, and all calls will continue to be handled in the normal way.
The HSE will continue to triage all calls in the call centre in Letterkenny, and provide associated supports including vehicles and drivers
All GPs in the NoWDOC service will continue to fully participate in the GP out of hours service, with GPs in Ballyshannon and Bundoran who currently manage their own rotas now being brought in under the new arrangement.
